How to Use Help

Have something you can give for free? Looking for help yourself? Give and receive using Help.


Help Overview

Ever wonder how to get the word out to others when you or your organization had need of something?  Or how about those times when you had something to donate but couldn’t figure out where to give it?

Peoplemovers has created Help to connect people, organizations, businesses and governments so they can quickly post what they want and what they have.  In this way, resources can shared more effectively while saving everybody valuable time.


How It Works
  1. From the “Make A Difference” Navigation Bar Link or from My Profile, click on “Help” and then “Add”.
  2. Choose the Community 2.0™ Website you belong to that you want this post to originate from in “Under” (only available when on Peoplemovers.com Community).
  3. Choose the level of privacy.  If you want this post to be broadcast across all communities that follow you, you must choose “Visible to All”.
  4. Choose a “Current Status” (“Open” if not yet fulfilled and “Closed” when you’ve received what you’ve posted).
  5. Select whether you have something to give or are in need of something.
  6. Upload a photo or image that shows what you have or are looking for.  If nothing is selected, your profile photo will show.  Please use jpeg format.
  7. Create a Name for your Help Item and a Short Description.
  8. Choose a Category and the Community Topic (what’s this) that this Help post most closely relates to.
  9. If you have created an Initiative (what’s this), you can link your Help post to it which will create more postings throughout the website and network!
  10. If you would like to link this Help post to a Photo Gallery where people can see more photos, you can create one or link to an existing one.
  11. Enter the Location Name, Address, City, Country, State and Zip Code from which this Help Item is at or is needed (if applicable).
  12. Type or copy and paste more Help Description information you want to share.  Give plenty of information so others will be knowledgeable about your needs and how they can help.
  13. Click Save!

Tips for Use
  • Make sure you “Share” your Help post with all of your friends and groups and “Broadcast Online” to your favorite social media sites.  This will increase your visibility and draw more people to your Community 2.0™ Website.
  • Use your Initiatives as a basis for creating your Help posts to achieve better alignment.
  • You can offer Help as a valuable resource for your community and reduce your need to be “in the middle” of transactions.
  • Ask other organizations with Community 2.0™ Websites to follow you so your Help posts can instantly reach their people and organizations.
